When I look at photos from abroad, I see one of the very best versions of myself. I see a girl who wasn’t afraid of anything. A girl who was leaning on the Lord like she never had before. A girl who took care of herself, who loved others well, who was confident, who felt known. This is a girl who forgot what makeup was and probably hadn’t showered or slept in a few days. A girl who was satisfied possessing only what fit in one suitcase. A girl who spent more time playing uno than she did on her phone. A girl who constantly had a bible, a book, or a crossword in her hand. I was a girl who walked everywhere and enjoyed it!!! A girl who was vulnerable and cried a lot and laughed a whole whole lot more! Study abroad gave me the opportunity to be all the things I want to be. I got to escape the craziness of everyday life and really step into all the talents and passions and gifts that the Lord has blessed me with. Everyday I try to remind myself to be that girl... because that’s really me. That’s me without the pressure to prove or please or win or succeed. That’s just me being me, exactly where the Lord put me, and I’m so thankful that he put me in Newcastle Australia. This is #mystudyabroadstory ! ! !
